Members are reminded that the annual subscription for next season remains the same and the treasurer would welcome payments before the season gets underway again in late August. Adult members can continue play friendly chess games on a Thursday evening in the downstairs bar over the summer months. 24 members and former members had a very enjoyable night at the South Beach Hotel when Len Weir who founded the club was presented with a memento to mark the occasion. We hope to organise a simultaneous display by a grandmaster early in the new season to complete our 50th anniversary celebrations. More details will follow once we have a confirmed date.
