The simul by Jonathon Rowson GM, to celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary was a great success. Jonathon played 19 people in just under 4 hours winning 17, drawing 1 and losing 1. David Lonie secured a draw and Oscar Yip(J) after his late arrival gained a memorable win over Jonathon. I will post some photos from the event soon. Members are reminded that the annual subscription for next season remains the same and the treasurer would welcome payments before the season gets underway again in late August. A big thank you to the many members who have already paid their subs. Adult members can continue to play friendly chess games on a Thursday evening in the downstairs bar over the summer months. If you are thinking of joining when the new season begins please get in touch or pop into the club on a Thursday evening or come along to the South Beach Hotel on a Saturday morning.
