The Motwani Quaich is a knock-out tournament which features players who are knocked out of the Len Weir Trophy in rounds 1 & 2
This strongly contested trophy gets its name from GM Paul Motwani, Scotland’s first Grandmaster
Paul has close connections with Troon Chess Club and has visited the club on many occasions, playing in two simultaneous matches against Troon players
