John Blair Wilson Robertson (8 October 1908 – 7 February 1998) was a prominent chess organiser who helped encourage juniors chess in Ayrshire from the mid 1960s culminating in Ayr Academy winning the British Schools Chess Championship in 1971 and 1972. The same group of juniors from Ayr Academy won the Ayrshire senior League in 1972 when they entered a team known as the Ayr J’adoubes.
The JBW Robertson trophy for players graded under 1400 will be held in Troon this year between November and March.
